Permanent Eyeliner FAQ’s
Eyeliner pre/post care instructions
All PMU Appointments require a credit card on file to hold your appointment. Please allow 48 hours for all rescheduling and cancellations, failure to do so will result in a late cancellation fee being charged to the card on file. This fee varies based upon the total fee of the appointment booked. All no-show appointments will be charged the full appointment amount! Respect for one another’s time is of the upmost importance, we are always mindful of your time and expect the same in return. All permanent makeup appointments require a 6 week touchup to finalize your tattoo, this touchup is $75.
Eyeliner Pre-care Instructions:
•Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours prior to treatment. Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
•Do not drink coffee or energy drinks on the day of treatment.
•Do not tan or sunbathe 3 days before treatment.
Botox and filler must be done 2 weeks prior to Permanent Eyeliner.
All False lashes and lash extensions must be removed 1 week prior to your appointment. We cannot tattoo if you have lash extensions.
Although rare, infections are possible, if you have eyes that are prone to infection or particularly sensitive, ask your doctor for a prescription eye drop or antibiotic.
Please arrange to come by the studio in the days or week leading up to your appointment to get some numbing cream. It is very helpful for both parties for the client to come in with a baseline numbing, additional numbing products will be applied throughout the entire procedure. Alternatively, you can arrive 30 minutes early to your appointment to be numbed.
Permanent Makeup Aftercare Instructions
Days 1-7
Gently wash area morning and evening for 15 seconds with mild soap included in your kit and sterile water, pat dry with dry cloth or tissue, do not rub! Do not use any exfoliants, glycolic, AHA, or BHA's. Be mindful that you are not scrubbing or being abrasive in any way to the area, this is simply to keep the area clean. Follow with aquaphor.
Apply Aquaphor as needed throughout the day.
Rinse eyes as much a needed directly after your appointment. We take great care in keeping product out of the eye during your procedure and will rinse thoroughly throughout, however it is possible that trace amounts of numbing and ink will still be in your eye. If eyes feel sensitive or like something is in them at all, rinse as often as you wish with any eye drops or saline you have at home.
You cannot wear any makeup including eyeliner and mascara until the liner is fully healed (7-10) days. When eyes are fully healed you MUST use a new tube of mascara so no bacteria from the old tube contaminates your healing tattoo.

How long does the procedure take
We start by mapping out your liner according the shape of the eyes and desires by drawing them on the skin with a soft pencil. Once the shape is perfected the procedure takes approximately 1.5-2 hours depending on the type of liner you requested and thickness of the liner. The whole procedure takes approximately 2-3.5 hours. We take time and care to make sure you are completely satisfied with the overall result and you will never feel rushed.
Will I need a touch-up
All new PMU services require a 6-8 week perfecting appointment to ensure proper acceptance of pigment and to polish and complete the shape. This appointment is $75. After your initial touch-up most treatments last 12-24 months depending on the technique, how well you follow aftercare instructions and lifestyle. Once you’re ready, you will book a yearly touch-up. Yearly touchup will be same fee whether it’s at 1 or 3 years, as long as the shape doesn’t need to be remapped.
